Martel Diamond Burr
The Martel Diamond Burr is a 1/2″ elliptical cone shaped 150 grit diamond burr with 1/4″ shank, for maintaining the perfect inside bevel shape in your Martel Hook Tool.
The Martel Hook Tool features a concave shaped bevel on its inside edge, which offers a very sharp cutting edge and allows the user to use a small hone or file to sharpen the cutting edge without the need to take out much material. However, repeated use of a flat sharpening tool with eventually turn this concave bevel into a flat or convex bevel, making sharpening more difficult and less effective. This is where the elliptical burr comes in, allowing easy maintenance and restoration of the bevel shape. Paired with the Martel Diamond hone you can keep your hook tool cutting smooth for a lifetime.
This burr can be mounted in a drill press for easy use, or even a hand drill if that’s what you have available. Use a low speed and take your time to ensure you achieve the proper inside profile on your hook tool.
