How to Use Martel Calipers for Woodturning

Developed by woodturner extraordinaire Andre Martel in Quebec, Canada, the Martel Calipers are the most universal and user-friendly thickness calipers on the market.

The unique design allows you to reach deep into smaller vessels, unlike most others which need a larger opening. The double-end allows you to see EXACTLY what the measurement is on the end that is deeply buried in your project.

Available in 3 sizes:

• Small (6-12) = 6 ‘’ deep reach or 12’’ overall . Will measure a 12’’ diameter bowl to the right center, and a 14’’ bowl to 1’’ from center.
• Medium (10-20) = 10‘’ deep reach or 20’’ overall . Will measure a 20’’ diameter bowl to the right center, and a 22’’ bowl to 1’’ from center.
•  Large (14-28) = 14‘’ deep reach or 28’’ overall . Will measure a 28’’ diameter bowl to the right center, and a 30’’ bowl to 1’’ from center.
