Martel #3 Medium Handle

The Martel #3 Medium Handle is one of 4 handle sizes from Martel designed for use with the Martel Hook Tool. These are a little different than most other turning tool handles in their relative length and shape as they are designed for turning hollows in end grain. Being significantly longer than other handles allows for easy and smooth control of your cutting tool.  This also offers a much deeper reach when turning hollows on deep vases and other end grain applications, where the size of your project is not as limited as it would be in traditional cross grain bowl turning. The Martel Hook tool, for which this handle is designed to be paired with, is typically pulled through the cut instead of pushed. The unique tapered grips on the handle allow for a very firm grasp on your tool while pulling through the cut.

This handle is 26″ long, 2″ diameter, and fits a 3/4″ shank. We suggest pairing it with the Martel #3 Shank and Medium Martel Hook Tool.
