#7F Fishtail Tools by Pfeil Swiss Made
The #7F Fishtail Tools by Pfeil Swiss Made feature a blade that is thin and light, with a curved and flared end. These tools are useful for light wood finishing, lettering, skimming, and modeling. They're also great tools for cleaning out corners and undercutting, particularly when side clearance is limited. They can be used to easily reach tight places where a full-width gouge would not fit.

Choosing the Right Tool for the Job:
We offer more than 600 different Pfeil products to let your passion take shape. Check out this blog post of ours on understanding Pfeil's sizing and profiles!
A Fishtail Tool is a chisel with a flared blade that resembles the tail of a fish. The #7F Fishtail Tools by Pfeil Swiss Made (as shown above) features a flared blade with a medium curvature. We carry all of Pfeil's other Fishtail series, including #1F, #3F, #5F, and #9F. The larger the series number is, the deeper the curvature on the flared blade. For example, the #9F has a steeper curve than the #5F, and the #3F has a gentler curve than the #7F, while the #1F is completely flat.

Pfeil is a family-owned company, spanning four generations. For over a hundred years, the cutting tools made by Pfeil have been based on an ancient craft tradition. They use the latest technology and strive for continuous further development. Pfeil benefits from the expertise of specialists from the Technical College for Wood Carving in Brienz, and professional woodcarvers from all over the world.
Manufactured with Passion.
We know that you'll show your Pfeil collection the same level of care that is given to every individual tool in production. Skilled craftsmanship, high requirements in development and production, and multiple quality checks occur during the entire manufacturing process. This forms the basis of Pfeil's quality guarantee and promise.
Ecological and Ergonomic.
The environment and our living space are important to us. Precious resources like water, air and energy are used sparingly and as efficiently as possible in Pfeil's manufacturing. They deliberately use native woods to produce the tool handles. They are treated with solvent-free vegetable oil; this means for example that the octagonal handles made of ash sit firmly and securely in your hands.
