The series #14a Short Bent V-Parting Gouges by Pfeil Swiss Made feature a short, deep gouge and are generally used for cutting deep recesses. They are also useful for cutting ornamentation.
Pfeil's #14a v-parting gouges are from their line of short bent tools. We carry all of Pfeil's other short bent series, including #1a, #2a, #3a, #5a, #7a, #8a, #9a, #11a, and #12a. The larger the series number is, the deeper the scoop on the tool will be. For example, the #14a has a much steeper scoop than the #5a, and the #3a has a much gentler curve than the #9a.

Carving tools should be handled with care. They should be stored in roll-up cases, wooden boxes or wall-mounted tool racks. The tools should not be allowed to fall on the floor or impact one another. This will avoid mistakes when cutting and also injuries. In order to prevent corrosion (rust etc.), the tools must be stored in a dry room. For longer periods of storage, it is recommended that the tool blades are protected with a thin coat of light oil. Â
