The Pop-In Hard Rubber Roller works great for light carving or gluing applications, rolling down prints, and other graphic projects.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on block printing (On Paper):
- Prepare Your Design: Start by creating or selecting a design that you want to transfer onto your block. You can draw your design directly on the block or transfer it using tracing paper.
- Carve the Block: Use carving tools to carefully carve out your design on a linoleum block. Ensure that you carve away the areas that you do not want to be printed.
- Ink the Block: Apply block printing ink evenly onto the surface of your carved block. You can use a brayer (roller) to ensure a smooth and even layer of ink.
- Prepare the Paper: Cut the Speedball paper to the desired size if needed. The paper is thin and lightweight, so handle it with care to avoid tearing.
- Position the Paper: Carefully place the paper over the inked block. Ensure that it is aligned correctly if you are aiming for precise placement.
- Transfer the Image: Use a baren to gently but firmly press the paper onto the block. Start from the center and work your way outward to avoid air bubbles and ensure even ink transfer.
- Lift the Paper: Gently peel the paper away from the block. Be careful not to smudge the print. Allow the print to dry completely on a flat surface.
- Clean Up: Clean your block and tools immediately after printing to prevent the ink from drying and becoming difficult to remove.
