What’s the difference between heavy duty and regular tips, and why would I choose one over the other?
Heavy Duty tips are heavier than regular tips, making them more durable. They are recommended for applications like shading, where the side of the tip is used or if the tip or pen will be subjected to more pressure or to rougher use (like in schools). However, heavy duty tips don’t develop as much tip heat (you’ll need to use a higher heat setting) and the tip won’t recover its heat as quickly as a regular tip.
Heavy Duty Tip 7S – Small Round Skew
Small Round Skew – Heavy Duty Tip Only. Great for extreme fine detail in confined areas or on very small pieces. Great for fine detail on feathers or hair on sculpted or “bumped” surfaces. Popular with more advanced bird and animal carvers.
Heavy Duty Tip 1M – Medium Skew
Medium Skew – Heavy Duty Tip Only. General use tip for pyrography, cutting, fine detail where #1L would be a bit too big. A good and popular all-around tip shape.
Heavy Duty Tip 1L – Large Skew
Large Skew – Heavy Duty Tip Only. General use tip for pyrography, cutting, fine detail. A very versatile tip.
Heavy Duty Tip 7L – Large Round Skew
Large Round Skew – Heavy Duty Tip Only. Great for fine detail on feathers or hair on sculpted or “bumped” surfaces. Popular with more advanced bird and animal carvers.
Heavy Duty Tip 14M – Medium Knife
Medium Knife – Heavy Duty Tip Only. General detail in pyrography, gourds, hair, or feathers. Rounded heel is preferred by many artists. Much like the 14L, but for artists who prefer a slightly smaller tip.
Heavy Duty Tip 14L – Large Knife
Large Knife – Heavy Duty Tip Only. General detail in pyrography, gourds, hair, or feathers. Rounded heel is preferred by many artists.

To the USA: Most orders to the USA are now shipped via UPS Expedited (as of August 2021), which normally runs 2 – 3 business days (if you are within 2 – 3 business days distance on a standard we may ship UPS standard). Yes, this is coming from Canada, and yes, it is fast!
