The elliptical diamond burr and 600 grit diamond hone are the real workhorses of edge sharpening and maintenance, but if you find yourself turning end grain in hard and dry woods this fine felt hone with green buffing compound can get you that extra mile in sharpness. When used in the same was as the elliptical diamond burr, in a drill press or handheld drill, the felt hone functions essentially as a strop to finely polish the cutting edge and interior profile of your hook tool blade.
